Tattoo FAQs

How Should I prepare For My Tattoo Appointment?

Make sure you are well hydrated and eat before you come. Make sure you charge your phone before coming. You can bring one or two friends, but no more than that.

What Should I Wear?

Looser fitting clothes are better than tighter. It’s  about comfort not fashion. make sure you have no problem getting ink on any clothing close to the tattoo. I try to prevent this at all costs but it can happen. Lastly, if getting a tattoo in a more private area, wear something that can cover the certain areas of your body you don’t want exposed.

How Bad Do Tattoos Hurt?

The pain level varies from person to person depending on your tolerance. The feeling can be described as getting a scratch on a sunburn. The placement also determines what the pain level will be, some areas hurt more than others (ribs, feet, ankles, and wrists are the most tender).

How Long Does It Take To Heal?

The majority of healing will be done within the first two weeks. After two weeks the skin will be shiny because it is still healing and hasn’t fully rejuvenated. It takes around 4 to 6 weeks for the skin to fully heal and get back to its previous state from before the tattoo.

Can I take Anything For The Pain Beforehand?

DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT! Drinking beforehand will make doing your tattoo harder for me and in the long run, it will be more painful. However, you can take some Ibuprofen before to help with swelling and pain. If you have a topical numbing cream I have no problem with you using it, however, it can sometimes make the skin swell a little more in some cases.
